The Format Written in Stone

Back in the eighties, my Uncle Jerry was the keeper of my Granddad's 16mm home movies of our family. These memories were captured when my Dad was still a kid.

None of us were really sure at the time how to copy them to VHS, but we knew we would have it done one day. Before that day arrived my Uncle's house caught on fire. No one was hurt but the blaze destroyed forever the home movies my family treasured so.

The First and the Last

Back when Georgia Music was still in the Macon Mall, I walked in to purchase my first video camera. Oddly enough the store was fazing out their cameras and I bought the only one left. Attack of the Tripod

While filming a travel log in Japan I boarded a passenger train on the Yamanote line...its route through Tokyo stops at many popular sights. Since it was well after six when I boarded, I would able to avoid being crammed sardine-can style with the 5pm-rush crowd.

I hadn't viewed this episode for some time now and was surprised how the technology of the real world has almost completely caught up with at least this gadget from the Jetsons. His set was a flat screen and stood against the wall. It may have been square like the format of classic Television sets but still it was flat and on the wall.

No Place like Haddock for the Holidays

November 27th marked a new milestone for the small town of Haddock with its first-ever Christmas tree lighting. Ruby and Franklin Kitchens planted the tree opposite the post office behind "Trish Ann's Antiques, Gifts and Tea Room."

Terry Stair's Star Wars memorabilia

Stair's way to Heaven

During the late 80's and early 90's, there existed a sort of "dark ages" for Star Wars fans. People thought Luke Skywalker was a rap artist and there seemed to be little interest in the series...it was just not in vogue. Luckily, I discovered yard sales where I found dozens of SW comics for a quarter each! And then I met Terry Stair…
