Students from Wesleyan, Mercer University, and Macon State College are united in a common goal – to raise $10,000 and lots of awareness.  They’ll walk all night around Wesleyan’s main quad during the first annual Macon Area Colleges Relay for Life.  The event is intended, not to compete with the main Relay for Life event but rather, to increase the impact of Relay for Life by getting local college students involved in the popular worldwide American Cancer Society initiative.

Relay For Life of Macon Area Colleges, GA, will take place on the Wesleyan College campus on April 3, 2009, from 6:00PM to 7:00AM on April 4th. The all-night event will begin with a Survivor Lap.  At dusk, a Luminaria Ceremony will honor survivors as well as those lost to the disease.  Those interested in camping out on the quad for cancer may donate and register teams online at www.relayforlife.org/MaconGAColleges.
