Hot fun in the summertime? Sounds great! Whether splashing in the pool or grilling in the backyard, it’s easy to get caught up in the fun and forget the dangers that come along with the summer heat. Every year, countless Americans deal with hydration problems – many without even realizing it!

When a friend’s daughter said she was going to Georgia Military College, we thought “Jiin is going into the Army?!” We couldn’t have been more off base. While there is the military aspect and foundation at GMC, it is a public-independent educational institution, comprised of a junior college and a separate preparatory school (grades 6-12), whose mission and purpose is to produce educated citizens by providing junior college students with a liberal arts-based two-year undergraduate curriculum.

We know so many people that started their higher education at Macon State when it was a junior (2-year) college – people who later achieved doctorates and say that those two years at Macon State College were as tough academically as any school they attended. That commitment to excellence was evident when we attended the college as well. But the most exciting development at the now 4-year college is the addition of a true campus life.
